The Ferrari 488 Pista is the successor to the 458 Speciale. While the predecessor 458 Speciale was powered by a naturally aspirated V8, Ferrari relies on turbo technology and lightweight construction for the 488 Pista. The Ferrari 488 Pista made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018 as a limited series car.
On the powertrain side, the Ferrari 488 Pista features a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It delivers 720 horsepower and a maximum torque of 770 Nm. With a dry weight of 1,280 kilograms, the Ferrari 488 Pista is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. It reaches the 200 km/h mark in 8 seconds. The top speed is stated as 340 km/h, and the power-to-weight ratio of the Ferrari is approximately 1.78 kg/hp.
The design of the Pista was influenced by the 488 GTE and 488 Challenge racing variants. The car has received many mechanical and exterior changes to make it more powerful and even lighter than the 488 GTB. The most noticeable changes to the Pista’s exterior are found on the front end.
